DO NOT ENTER THE RESIN PRINTING STATION.
The resin printing station is for UTDesign Makerspace officers only. UTDesign Makerspace is not responsible for any injuries sustained by improper use of the resin printing station. Please read through the entire guide for more information on how to request a print.
UTDesign Makerspace officers have access to a resin printing station that includes a resin printer, a wash station, and a UV curing station. Although this is not accessible to members, you may request a print to be completed by an officer.
Before printing your model, it must pass two requirements.
Your model should be small enough to definitely fit on our resin printer. Things like small trophies, keycaps, and tabletop miniatures will almost always fit. If you need to print something larger, consider breaking it into smaller parts. You could also try printing detailed parts on our resin printer and less detailed parts on our other 3D printers, combining the two afterwards.
Your model should require a significant amount of detail. For example, tabletop miniatures, keycaps, keychains, and small text. If your model doesn't require much detail, consider using one of our other 3D printers.
You will be required to pay UTDesign Makerspace for the completed print. This should less than a dollar but can vary depending on size and detail.
Only UTDesign Makerspace officers can use the resin printing station. Members must request a print.
Depending on officer availability and the length of the queue, your print may take anywhere from six hours to a week or two. We will combine prints when possible, so others with smaller prints may have theirs done before you if a higher priority print doesn't have room for yours.
Upon completion, you will receive a Discord message from an officer with the location of your print. Please retrieve your print from the Makerspace as soon as possible.
LIQUID RESIN IS TOXIC.
Our officers will do their best to cure your print as well as possible. However, if you see any wet parts on your print, wipe them with a paper towel. If you accidentally touch liquid resin, wash your skin with soap and water immediately.
